NTT Docomo new lineup for 2008

Japan's most famous mobile phone carrier NTT Docomo which has a 51 percent share in Japan's mobile phone services market, just released 22 (21 since Nokia canceled) models for its fall and winter 2008 lineup.

Those 22 models fall into four categories, style, prime, smart, and pro that are intended to suit the various lifestyles of its users and their preferences in designs, functions and digital tools.

The price of the mobile phone ranges between 40,000 and 50,000 yen, which are equivalent between 400 and 500 U.S. dollars with current exchange rates.

The style series sets are designed to be more fashion-forward than the rest. The smart series is geared toward business users favoring designs and oversea usability. The prime series has strong entertainment features with models featuring an 8.0 mega-pixel camera, waterproof handsets, and touch-panel screens. The pro series are designed to use for digital tools.

NTT Docomo recently slashed its fiscal 2008 sales target as it struggles to halt the exodus of subscribers to smaller rivals like Softbank Mobile.
